Mid century teak G Plan Sierra highboard

Mid century teak G Plan Sierra highboard

A mid century teak highboard / sideboard made by G Plan as part of their 1970s Sierra range.

The G Plan Sierra range was introduced in the 1970s as an alternative to the popular Fresco range. Key design features are contrasting teak panelling with mitred joints and sculpted D shaped pull handles in solid Afromosia teak. They’re not as common as the Fresco pieces, but the build quality is just as good.

This one came to us in need of TLC. The original base and legs were broken and were removed and replaced with a set of reclaimed tapered beech legs. One handle was also repaired, while a damaged pull down door was removed and converted to open shelving, with a new removable shelf added for extra flexibility. It’s a handsome, sturdy and practical piece of furniture with loads of cupboard storage to the top and bottom, as well as three drawers (including one felt lined cutlery drawer).

Although it’s not in original condition, we think the changes we’ve made enhance its design while preventing a wonderful item from being sent to landfill. The remainder of the piece is in great structural and visual condition with only the usual age related wear.

The price also includes free shipping to most mainland UK locations as standard.
