REFURBISHMENT

WHY REFURBISH?

It can be cheaper to get your furniture repaired, refinished or reupholstered, than sourcing brand new furniture of a similar quality.

It's much better for the environment to re-use and customise what we have rather than continue to rely on finite resources involved in the production of new furniture. Older furniture is generally of a good quality designed to last a long time. We can work with you to see beyond any cosmetic issues such as fabric or finish. We have experience doing this as part of the BBC1 Money for Nothing team, turning items destined for landfill into stylish and desirable pieces.

You'll also get your dream pieces rather than settling for something that's simply "okay". From finding that perfect fabric, to giving you the confidence to go for that bright orange paint you've secretly wanted, let us use our experience in design to guide you along the way.

HOW DOES OUR SERVICE WORK?

You'll need to email us. Please include several photos, description of any issues and the work you'd like us to undertake. Please include the undersides and backs, and please remove any cushions. If you'd like refinishing or upholstery undertaken, please provide some examples of colours or patterns.

You can find loads of inspiration on Pinterest,

or just head to our instagram to see examples of our work.

We charge £10 for each local pick up and delivery,

or items can be posted or delivered to us upon request.

Our email address is hello@urbnnest.com

Once we've got all the info we need, we'll provide an estimate inclusive of labour and materials. We don't include fabric as this can vary depending on personal choice, although we can help you choose the right one. To make things easier for you, we have our own range of upholstery spec, fire retardant house fabrics which we charge a discounted rate of £20 per metre.

Happy with the estimate? We'll get you to read and agree to our T&Cs.

If you're happy with all this, we can book you into our calendar. To do this, we'll request 50% of the cost upfront as a deposit, reserving you a workshop slot and enabling us to purchase materials. Materials will not be purchased until we have received this. The remaining 50% balance is due prior to collection/delivery. We'll advise you on when we'll be ready to start, and when the work will be complete.

Once work commences, expect it to take around 2-4 weeks depending on our schedule. Restoration work has to be done carefully, and we can often have several other projects and commitments ongoing. If we have any issues, we'll get in touch to discuss with you.

When we're done, we'll contact you to agree a collection or delivery date.
