A mid century beech and elm quaker style rocking chair made by Ercol. Designated model number 428.
 
The seat is solid elm, while the frame is solid beech. While the elm seat base had a stunning wood grain, we felt that the beech wood wasn't to the same standard. We have updated the rest of the chair frame, finishing it in a traditional green colour and sealing it with gloss lacquer for a polished finish. The green perfectly complements the elm wood, and brings the chair into the 21st century. 
 
Although small, the chair is comfortable for all body sizes and the rocking motion is in good order. It would work styled alongside more traditional interiors, as well as modern farmhouse interiors, or even nestled alongside other vintage or mid century pieces.
